Using the camera I reveal how I see and feel about the world around me. I am fascinated by the notion of time passing; of people, places and objects evolving and then discovering what has been left behind. The evidence of human interaction that was once present is something I am trying to bring through in this work. My intention is to capture an atmosphere, a feeling of intrigue and mystery, of something having once been there. I aim to evoke an emotional response from the viewer or perhaps trigger a memory. Part of this series of work has been produced using Pinhole Photography techniques and Camera Obscura. The Pinhole Photography images have an intangible dreamlike appearance that cannot be easily defined and are in keeping with the underlying theme. Both methods of capturing images also echo the passing of time as they represent the true origins of photography. Collagraph and mixed media prints form the rest of the work within this series.
